Leading Chinese phone maker Ulefone recently announced a 5.5-inch device that it claims will offer a HiFi audio experience, making them the first Chinese manufacturer of its size to offer such an audio-centric device. Update: Pre-ordering a Ulefone Vienna is now deeply discounted.

Today, March 29, Ulefone starts the presales of its audio-centric device, the Ulefone Vienna, with the special price of US$169.99 plus a US$10 mystery gift, a total US$40 discount from the original price.

Presales have started at all the Ulefone retailer partners’ sites and will end on April 12 when the price will go back to US$199.99. From April 15, Ulefone will start to ship the items and promises to fulfill orders at a normal speed.

The highlight of the Ulefone Vienna is undoubtedly its independent HiFi chipset – the NXP Smart Audio PA – which packs both DAC and an operational amplifier. The Vienna's audio system will have a frequency response range from 20 Hz to 20 KHz, covering all the sound frequencies audible to human ears. The 109db high SNR and <0.01% low THD are said to ensure users will receive a pure audio experience.

Among the main specs, Ulefone stressed that the Vienna will be equipped with a 5.5-inch 1080p LTPS display from Sharp and 32 GB of onboard storage, comfortably accommodating high-quality music files. Other specs include a MTK6753 8-core 64-bit chipset, 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM, a 13 MP Panasonic MN34172 camera with dual flash, and a 3,250-mAh Sony li-polymer battery.

The Ulefone Vienna’s fingerprint scanner will support recognition of up to five different fingerprints, a physical key under the power button can be used to start the camera and voice recorder apps, and the infrared blaster will enable you to control home appliances with remote control apps.

Design-wise, the Ulefone Vienna has 2.5D glass on the front side, while the unified frame and back cover can’t be removed by users. SIM and TF cards can be inserted via a tray on the left edge of the phone, while on the right edge, you can find the volume rocker.

Measuring 153.5 x 77.85 x 8.6mm, the Ulefone Vienna weighs 156g and comes in four color variants: grey, white, black and pink.

Ulefone Vienna - let's see it comes with Android OS Lollipop (for 2016? this should have Android OS Marshmallow 6.01), price is great for No Contract when one considers the specs (why skip on the micro SD card? this should have been included), can anyone confirm if this would work on North American 4G LTE?

The Ulefone Vienna is great, with 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM, 13MP camera, fingerprint touch ID and Android 5.1 OS, and here is another mid-range phone with almost same features (Android 6.0) but with only $149.99 - OUKITEL K6000 Pro, maybe you will love it.

The price is $169.99 on gearbest. Maybe you can consider another popular MTK6753 mid-range smartphone, Oukitel K6000 Pro, it is only $143.99 at this e-shop now.
