UMi Touch: Flash sale on today!

Reason 1: Design

The UMi Touch is not a common, faceless Chinese smartphone. Each element and detail is well thought-out and useful. Its curvy shape makes holding it with one hand very comfortable and the aluminum case guarantees higher safety and general robustness of the body, which is useful if it happens to get dropped. Its eye-catching appearance gives it an expensive and stylish look, though its price is moderate compared with its well-known counterparts. The UMi company has done its best to introduce a main trend for all modern smartphones, including new iPhones, and the Touch features 2.5D rounded glass edges.

Reason 2: Firmware

All UMi smartphones have a very important feature – they are sold with a clean Android OS, with no launcher interfaces (e.g. HTC Sense, Samsung TouchWiz, etc.) or unnecessary software, and the UMi Touch is no exception. The UMi Touch comes with stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow, so, when you purchase this device, you won't have to get used to a special launcher or get your head around its particularities.

All UMi smartphones are sold with a clean Android OS

But that's not all. Like other UMi devices, the new Touch supports Rootjoy, which makes it possible to get quick firmware updates like MIUI, Flyme, VIBE UI or even Windows Phone 8 with just a few clicks.

Reason 3: Scanner

The UMi Touch is equipped with a highly-precise fingerprint scanner, which is capable of recognizing fingerprints in a tenth of a second with maximum accuracy. The scanner can quickly unlock the device and protect access to certain programs.

For example, you could set the fingerprint reader to open banking or note apps that are normally restricted with passwords. Another important feature is that the scanner is embedded into a mechanical home button below the screen, which can be woken up by pressing or just touching it, thanks to its sensor layer. To sum it up, the home button works in three ways: mechanical pressing, sensor touching and fingerprint scanning.

Reason 4: Hardware

The device has a 64-bit Mediatek MT6753 Octa-Core chipset, a Mali-T720 graphics chip, 3/16 GB memory, a micro SD card slot, LTE support, a 5.5-inch 1,080p display and a 4,000 mAh battery. With these, you have a device with the features of last year's flagship models, at a budget price.

The UMi Touch also has a 13 MP camera with a quality Sony Exmor R IMX328 sensor. Its front camera is a 5 MP Hynix Hi553 and has a flash for better selfies.

Oukitel k6000 Pro Group-buying in Aliexpress for $149.99 and free accessory. You can visit Blackpeach Aliexpress.

  • Really amazing, I love this phone, the best price with the best performance.

  • I also was impressed by the battery life, I can't use my Meizu for whole day, even though I adjust the screen light to the lowest level. I want to purchase a Umi Touch, where can I buy?

  • I waited 4 weeks and it was worth everyday I think the phone will perform for me and considering the price I love it even more I will never pay 5 or 6 hundred for a phone again. Thank you UMI.

  • Looks good but after the umi hammer debacle I'd be reluctant to order another umi product. That was supposed to have decent battery and be super tough. The battery's turned out to be 1650mah with a label stuck on top saying something much higher.
And as for the super tough composite rear cover well it was just like any other plastic cover. And the whole thing that was used to "hammer" nails in the promo video was destroyed by my 13 year old daughter in less than 3 weeks.
I wouldnt pre order from them even if it was only half the current price

    • I didn't know about such a debacle... I'm waiting to check out some hands-on review and then suggest again this phone, if it will be the case.

  • Ok

  • Looks nice, but I'll wait until the WMC and see what the announce. Really looking forward to the Moto G 4th generation.

  • Well for that price its really interesting its a shame thats most people still think that chinesse product are unreliable even if everthing its made there

  • good spects but people wont take intrest in it

Main reason NOT to buy one: it looks like it won't support US LTE bands.

  • Again sounds a good device? but it's made in China and is unreliable, so what's the point in buying a device which ain't guner last?

Most of the phones, if not all, are made in China.

    • Yup, it's made in china (like all the rest), and has the specs of a flagship...But it does not have the brand...I guess you are right. Why should we pay €180 for a flagship when we can pay around €600 for something alike with a brand (which are made in China as well but not unreliable)...LoL
