Here is a quick guide for how to take a screenshot with the Galaxy Tab 3:

  1. Hold down on the POWER BUTTON and the HOME BUTTON simultaneously, but keep them held for 1-2 seconds.

  2. Wait until you hear a sound or see an animation on the screen.

The screenshot will be saved in your "screenshots" folder, which can be accessed quickly via the gallery.

There you have it :)

Does not work. It only either turns the volume down or ask me to power off, depending on which button i hit first. I wouldn't consider myself to be a newbie, but i can't figure it out. I've had no problems doing it on my samsung tab 2 though!!! Am i missing something in settings or a new update?

Are you pressing the volume down button or the home button?

It works !!! I have the Galaxy Tab 3 10,1 and I tried it and it works... you just need to practice a bit... maybe a tad tricky to do but it takes about a second or two and the screen flicks a bit on the edge around which shows a screenshot has been taken... there is nothing wrong with your Tab... just take your time to practice and remember to briefly press power and home button simultaniously otherwise you will turn off the Tab like I did for my first couple of times... happy screenshoting ; )

On Samsung Tab 2, you need to press the "Power + Volume down" buttons simultaneously.

You may have to disable the Palm Motion Screen Capture in settings. Once I did this pushing the Home+Power button simultaneously worked!

It works! The home button located at bottom front of tablet along with power button at same time works!
