The Mobile World Congress is nearly upon us and that means AndroidPIT will be covering the latest smartphone launches from Barcelona. What are we expecting to see there? Some of the most important announcements of the year, in fact. Here’s a snapshot of what's coming.
Samsung’s new Galaxy phones
The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will be announced at Unpacked this Sunday. This is a big event each year and is a time when Samsung introduces its big flagships. This sets the tone for much of what we expect from the Android ecosystem - the Galaxy line often outperforms every other flagship device which follows throughout the year.
We’ll have hands-on reviews of these devices on Sunday, meaning you’ll get detailed analysis of what new features Samsung has brought forward this year. It’s going to be huge.
LG’s new flagship
The LG G5 is also being announced on Sunday. With a flurry of leaks raising the hype around LG’s latest flagship to fever pitch, we’re expecting a lot from this event. The G series is one of the most important device lines running Android. LG’s flagship will reportedly boast Always On display and possibly a removable battery. With increasing competition from Chinese manufacturers, the stakes are higher than ever before. We can’t wait to see what LG does at MWC.LG
Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has become a big player in a very short time. With its Mi line, customers are getting very solid hardware at prices we haven’t seen many other manufacturers able to match. The Xiaomi Mi5 is poised to become a new player amongst the flagships of 2016. With an expected Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4GB of RAM, it’s sure to be decked out like the S7 and G5. Stayed tuned for our hands-on review next week.
Sony, Huawei and more
We’ll be bringing you plenty more from the floor of MWC. Huawei will be hosting an event on Sunday, along with Sony on Monday. Other manufacturers include HTC, BlackBerry and OPPO. There will be a lot to keep up with, so stay tuned at AndroidPIT as we bring you all the news you need to know. See you in Barcelona!
