Apple’s first Android app wants you to dump Android

Apple has released its first Android app, which is now available for download in the Google Play store. The free app is called Move to iOS, and is designed to help users transfer their data from an Android device to an iPhone, as part of Apple's attempt to convert Android users to iOS.

Once you install Move to iOS, you can use it to wirelessly transfer photos, videos, contacts, message history and more from the Android device to an iPhone or iPad.

Apple announced Move to iOS at its recent San Francisco conference, along with its new flagship phones, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. As of the time of writing, the app has received an average user-rating of 1.8 out of five stars in the Play Store. We don't know whether this means the app experience is terrible, or if people are just Apple-bashing, but the comments make for some entertaining reading.

What are your thoughts on Apple's latest attempt to convert Android users to iOS? Let us know in the comments.

A cousin of mine decided to switch her husband's Android to an iPhone. The next day he returned the iPhone thinking it was damaged. The people at the Apple store told him the phone was perfectly fine. We soon found out that it was the lack of features of the iPhone that made him think the phone was faulty, and he got his Android back. LOL

this will be great for ppl who use iPads for business. I like using iPad for staff, but use Android peronally, you have much more acess to restrict permissions with apple. Hopefully Marshmallow will change that.

personally I think both OS have their benefits.

I guess a bit of healthy competition is always good :)

  • I'm more interested in when they're gonna release Apple Music to Android

  • To go from my N5 ftom Google to Apple? They're making jokes...

  • I have an iPad. Relax, it was a gift from well meaning family.. This app might be worth while to share from my S5. Maybe, we'll see.

Why would anyone want to move down on the Hiway that is going up. I was a Firm samsung buyer until they fixed the Battery and SD card. But I will never change to anything Apple. I'm looking at a LG G4 or wait for the G5 with Marshmallow. Not sure yet, I'll wait for it to come out for sale. Even if I can't remove the Battery or add an SD Memory, Oh well at least samsung won't get my money. When I buy my new phone I always buy one for my wife, so samsung loses 2 sales and a good customer with years of buying samsung phones only. But no more.
