Hello,

I'm due to get my HTC Desire in a few days and I was wondering what people think should be my first downloads? I have started to make a list from the excellent reviews on here but anyone have any stand out apps?

Thanks in advance

For utilities I like, Astro File Manager (nice file manager), Advanced Task Killer (good program killer), Barcode Scanner (must have for QRCodes and other barcodes), Easy Spirit Level (useful for leveling stuff), gUnit Lite (nice unit converter), Metal Detector (fun for showing off your android), Wifi Analyzer, Bible (nice daily verses and devotional). For games I like: GameBoid Lite (gameboy emulator), Mojo Nes Lite (nintendo emulator), Pulse Rider Demo (is hard but fun), Robo Defense (is real fun at first but becomes repetitive), Word Search (have made a game like this for j2me). You might also like my apps: Party Light and Party Light Free.

Yeah Miche ... but the application isn t free it cost about 9$ obiouvsly if u have flat connaction u talk for free like a normal voip application...but this allow u to remain amonimous , and in your phone bill there is only the data traffic not the call!!

I might be a bit biased but my favorite app is AutomateIt... :*)

Other recommended apps are:
3G Watchdog - must have if you are on a limited data plan
Handsent SMS - Far better than the stock SMS app
Shazam/Sound Hound
QuickPic

My best apps are

WhatsApp (most popular chat thingy with friends)
Mofreeze (live sports streams stuff (http://www.androidpit.com/en/android/forum/thread/425323/Live-Sports-Movies-Tv-Shows-Forum-app)
Battery Indicator (shows your battery)
Advanced Task Killer (yeah you guessed it, a task killer)
Applanet (black market)

I have to mention games though
WordFeud (online multiplayer scrabble based game)
Tank Hero (tank shooter)
PES2011 (soccer game)
Sketch Online is also good (Online pictionary multiplayer)

All those listed above are available for free except for PES2011 and possibly battery indicator
