If you are looking on how you can save your WhatsApp chat history, you can do so following these easy steps.

It is good to know that your WhatsApp messages are automatically backed up & saved on your phone's memory. Therefore, if you want to delete WhatsApp from your phone and don't want to lose any of your messages, make sure to manually back up your chats before uninstalling.

To save your messages:
-Go to WhatsApp > Menu Button > Settings > Chat Settings
-Choose Backup Conversations

To export a copy of the history of an individual chat or group, you can use the Email Chat History feature:
-Choose and hold on the conversation or group.
-Choose Email conversation
-Choose whether to Attach Media or not.

After that, an email will be composed with your chat history attached as a .txt document.

If you choose to attach media, the most recent media sent will be added as attachments.

Saving a chat by emailing it is a nice method to archive your chat. BUT: In my case this function limits the numer of media (images, voice notes) to a total of 29 (i.e. 30 including the text body).

This is in some cases very awful, e.g. if somebody uses to talk instead of typing (resulting in a large bunch of audio files, at least more than 29).

What can I do? Is there a way to configure that limitation? To set it to a higher value?

Thanks,
L.W.

In addition, you can install the Google Drive in Android, and there will be the option of backup with Google Drive, which help to restore your chats when you buy a new phone.
