Motorola Moto G — Whatsapp beeping during call

Hi

I live in Spain and I've recently started using Whatsapp to call my mother in Belgium.

Every time we call, the first 10 minutes or so are fine. Then there is a double beep. While the beep lasts I can't hear what my mother is saying. She can hear what I'm saying if the beeping happens when I'm talking. After that first beep the frequency of the beeps increases and they last longer.

I've googled the problem but none of the offered solutions seem to apply.

Any idea what causes this and how it can be fixed?

I'm new to this, so sorry if I don't provide enough information.
I have the latest version of Android and the latest version of Whatsapp.

I’m not sure but I think may be the beep is a signal of a bad connection. Does it happen over any wifi connection or under any specific wifi connection?
If it’s not bad connection problem then my question is that did you try rebooting your phone? If no, then you can try it.
Just to confirm, does this happens only during whatsapp call or any other call via internet like skype, hangouts or viber?
