Hello android community,
I have tried all the answers on various forums and have not found a solution to my problem.
Two weeks ago Play Store stopped working, it immediately closes the app every time I try to open it. Other apps which use Google Play Services give an error message, for example gmail: "Gmail won't run without Google Play Services, which are currently updating." (This, for weeks).

I have cleared cache and data from both the Play store and Google Play Services, have disabled and enabled the Play Store repeatedly. I have the latest version of Google Play Services as far as I could find (Version 2.24-release-194801977). I have checked for software updates and updated manually. Nothing changes. Gmail and Play Store won't work, but some apps pop an error message and then continue to work fairly normally.

This all began when I opened my phone and moved my SIM card to another device and then back to my phone.

Thank you oh mighty community!!

I believe the best thing to do it's to make a reset factory on your phone. If it doesn't work, you'll need to reinstall Stock ROM on your device.

According to apkpure, the latest version of Google Play services is V12.5.29 while yours is V2.24. You may get the apk there.

But as AC&MM said, the simpler way for you is to perform a factory reset after a full backup.

Download size < 0.15 MB. But also accurate enough, ad-free & free.
