New to Whatsapp, no "Linked Devices" option

I am trying to get whatsapp set up to video chat with a friend overseas. I installed the app easy enough, but I don't have any options for video call (I press call and it does not give my the two options), nor do I seem to have the Linked Devices option under Menu.

My version is 2.21.21.19 on Android.

Never mind. Everything sort of fell into place once I added a contact and received a call. All seems to be working as expected now.

Please make sure that your Whatsapp Messenger is genuine and it was installed from the Google Play Store.
In addition, make sure to have granted the camera and microphone permissions to your WhatsApp.

It's strange, but I had no such problems with WhatsApp.
