The iPad Mini was launched together with the 4th generation iPad on the 23rd of October 2012. As Apple’s first tablet to measure approximately 7 inches - this format had been previously rejected by Apple. It has a 7.9-inch display (768 x .024) and the Apple A5 processor is used. The rear camera has the same 5 MP resolution as the larger iPad (4th gen.). The new Lightning connection is also used in the iPad Mini. The iPad Mini has an LTE module, but only in the 1.8 GHz frequency range and thus only works in the Telecom networks of larger cities.
