The Galaxy Tab was unveiled at the 2010 IFA and now has two successors, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and Galaxy Tab 3 7.0. In terms of technical specifications it is now definitely outdated. It offers 16 and 32 GB of internal memory and 512 MB of RAM as well as a 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor and a screen resolution of 1024 × 600 pixels. The operating system at release was Android 2.2 Froyo. The camera has a resolution of 3.2 MP. The Samsung Galaxy Tab was a direct response to the iPad and had to face Apple in court, a case which Samsung ended up winning.
