improve speed on android devises without rooting

for the longest time I struggled with my Droid being sluggish switching through homescreens and opening apps I have used many different home replacements such as helix launcher 1&2 open home gde and many more. however these were doing nothing for me I now use launcher pro beta and absolutely love it runs very very fast has 3d app launcher and 3-7 home screens I highly recommend checking this out for yourselves

I noticed that if I used more then 80% of my app memory on my Eris it would start running slow.. so I stay under 75% now.

I don't get too many speed problems with too little storage space I think. What usually happens with me when the memory gets too full, programs start messing up and closing on their own. Quite a pain to be honest. I'm hoping for an upgrade past the G1 sometime soon so that it won't be as much of an issue.
