tmobile g2 update to 2.3 gingerbread?

anyone know whether or not the tmobile g2 will recieve gingerbread? and if so, when?

I believe I made a blog post about a month or more in which HTC said they have plans to update most of their recent phones HTC Sense phones to Gingerbread. The Desire Z was one of them, and though it has similar hardware, it is not the same as the G2. I would think that the G2 would get the update, but I'm not sure.
