Samsung Galaxy Note 2 — cracked screen

From what I understand, replacing screens has gotten a lot harder as the screens have gotten higher and higher def. You might just want to replace the phone or let a professional do it.

Well, I would say if you have some experience in working with the damaged device then I would say, yes go forwards and changed the screen, there's nothing much in that except the pin need to be in place. But like @Joel said you can always get professional to work on that because sometime we just screw up things.
