quick text to incoming call

I have installed external messaging app (due to limitations of the stock app).

I have disabled the stock sms app (don`t like to have useless apps) and most of the things work well.

The problem is when receive a call and want to quick response text message. Without the stock app I can`t

1- is there a way yo teach the phone to use the installed app?
2- alternatively, is there another phone app to replace the stock here too?

There are many apps in play store that may resolves your problems...

And that is depend on App architecture, whether app developer configure it for a default app in system or not

yes, best example is hangouts by google
