Must root Android (PC available), no luck with recommended root downloads yet

Need to root my Kyocera Hydro Life (C6530). I have access and connectivity to a PC with Windows 8.

So far, I have tried dozens of "download this" apb drivers, drivermax, root installations, and most of them won't even recognize that my phone is connected to the computer, and even more won't even open once downloaded.

Can anybody help me even to get started? Please??
