Detecting iBeacons

Getting frustrated. I have been a programmer for 25 years, a newb at android though.

I have been very successful at creating the simple apps, and even getting more advanced things done due to my previous experience.

However, I am really getting frustrated by iBeacon detection with android. I have used the code and guidance from at least 15 different places, even just downloaded their source and ran and I get nothing.

I cannot get it to work.

Does anyone have a current app example with code that works out of the box so I can analyze and understand?

I would really appreciate it.
