Brand New Samsung Galaxy Active Tab 8.0 keeps rebooting itself

Brand new Samsung Galaxy Active Tab 8.0 keeps fully rebooting itself after 5-10 mins of being turned on with no interaction, when not on charge. When on charge, it stays on as I'd expect.
Tried hard and soft resets but to no avail.
Any ideas what it could be, or if it is a known problem perhaps?

It seems that the issue resulted from battery failure.
