There are several how to videos on YouTube that will explain how to unlock your phone in detail.
But before you unlock your phone you might want to see if the new mobile signal carrier you have in mind can activate it!
I was thinking of doing the same thing, but I found out that no one else could activate my s5 after i unlocked it because Sprint added coding to the hard drive that will forbid any other carrier from activating it.
Right now I own a unlocked s7.😁

I think I'm fine, I was wanting the actual 8 digit code in order to unlock it, I already know the how.

The 8 digit code you want is in your device! And the code is different in different devices. You have to start the unlocking process to retrieve it from your hard drive. And you will need a laptop or a home PC to do it!
The videos on YouTube will explain it.
