HTC One Max to arrive October 17th with fingerprint scanner

Or so says Taiwanese tipster ePrice, which also has the device tipped at a price of 23,900 yuan which is, more or less, $800. This sounds about right and the date seems possible too, considering the official announcement of the Max version of the One has been delayed a few times. This will most likely coincide with the launch of Google's Nexus 5 if the speculations are true.

We still don't know for sure if the HTC One Max will have a fingerprint scanner but most of the leak pictures consistently have a suspicious looking square on the back. Add to this the images from TENAA (Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center) – the Chinese FCC – that briefly surfaced on the web a little while ago, and it looks pretty likely. Considering Apple's inclusion of it and Samsung's interest it certainly makes more sense than a mini trackpad (it could even be both). Either way it's going to be several weeks before we find out. The current list of expected specifications are:

System Android 4.3, HTC Sense 5
Display 5.9 inch, 1,920 x 1,080 p
Processor Snapdragon S4 Pro, 1.7 GHz / Snapdragon 800, 2.5 GHz
Memory 2 GB
Internal storage 16 GB /32 GB / 64 GB / microSD
Camera 5 MP Ultrapixel camera
Battery 3,300 mAh
Price ~800 US-Dollar

Do you think mid-October will be the official announcement of the HTC One Max? What do you think has caused the delays?
