Galaxy Note 2 owners, are you ready? An official version of Android 4.4 has just been made available via Kies for international versions of the Samsung phablet, and France is first in line. What countries are next?
It has been a long time coming for Galaxy Note 2 owners and now it seems that things are finally getting underway. KitKat firmware, with build number N7100XXUFND3, is now available for French Note 2 owners, and though there is no information about it coming over-the-air (OTA), we can easily imagine that this will be underway in the near future. So if you are have a Note 2 in France (model number GT-N7100), you can already go ahead and download the latest version of Android from Sam Mobile.

The update for the French model is a good indication that other international variants of the Note 2 could be getting the KitKat update soon, like the UK, Germany, Spain and other countries, so just hold tight.
The update will bring many awesome new features, such as the white status bar icons, full-screen album art, wireless printing, NFC tap-to-pay, as well as a camera shortcut on the lock screen. You are also able to choose your default SMS app. There have also been some bug fixes and the overall performance has been improved as well for a much smoother user experience.
