Samsung Galaxy Note 7 could be unveiled on August 2

The Galaxy Note 7 news doesn't stop. After yesterday's teaser image leak for the Samsung phablet there are now some indications for the unveiling date. According to the latest speculation, the Galaxy Note 7 will be presented at a Samsung Unpacked event on August 2, 2016.

I am more interested in the code of this page than in the article.

The report comes from SamMobile who leaked a photo of what appears to be a promo image for Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event, the usual launch place for its Galaxy devices. This date seems likely as it's been one year since the last Galaxy Note device, so would be in keeping with Samsung's Note series launch cycle.

According to the image provided by SamMobile (see above) the Unpacked event could take place at the Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center in New York. The presentation could occur at 11am EST. Since this is an Unpacked event, Samsung will then also stream the event live via YouTube.

There are lots of design features we could see unveiled during the event: rumors that the device will come with curved edges in the back and front of the device, or that the phablet could be docked inside of a laptop. Another big feature possibility is that of an S-pen stand.

Specs rumors suggest the Note 7 will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor, 6 GB RAM and a 25 MP camera.

What do you hope to see at the Samsung Unpacked event for the Note 7? Let us know in the comments.

  • Lets hope they have better speakers and faster usb transfer. Also agree with other comments, why do you need a glass back with rounded edges, most of us use a case of some kind which covers most of the phone to protect it, seems strange that a manufacturer would make a phone completely out of glass, its the last material you would want for something so easy to drop, what happened to carbon fibre? Thats a modern durable stylish material.

    Software Update for Note 5?
I'm glad that upgraded android software came through on my Note 5 before they skipped a model number...said no one ever...😢

Um, this should be the note 6?

    • If you look back at many previous news leraks regarding this piece of kit (that I really want to get my hands on) it's thought that Samsung will skip Note 6 to bring Note models in line with "ordinary" Galaxy models, and also the i-phone.

The Note 7 is going to be one power house of a phone. It will be a real shame if it does not have a removable battery. With a removable battery the phone could remain viable for a decade. Give me a plastic removable back with the functionality it brings. Stick your premium materials and feel where the sun doesn't shine.

"Stick your premium materials and feel where the sun doesn't shine."-- I have been on about this since S6 range came out. Plastic is so much better- lighter, stronger ans when in a case, can't be seen, so no point in "premium"

Yeah. I've never broken or even scratched a screen on any of my phones or tabs in my life. I fell asleep with my Note 5 in my bed the other night. It fell off and hit the cheap plastic Acer laptop on the floor. It chipped the edge of the glass screen saver and the screen. The crappy plastic Acer doesn't have a mark on it. They can shove their"premium" design....well you know where!

    • You are so right my friend I went to the lg v10 and was happy at first but there several problems such as unable to hear my music on my Chevy truck via bluetooth this is ridiculous I my note 4 didn't have this problem I may go back to Samsung when the note 7 arrives.

  • And as usual, this will be (arguably) the best smartphone in the market.

  • I am badly waiting for note 7
