The Samsung Europa i5500? What is your budget like and are you looking to start a new contract? Who are the providers in your area? Finally, what kind of contract are you looking for, pay monthly, or pay as you go?

I want to help you but I need the answers to some, if not all of those questions before I can tell you what better options are available. However, I can tell you that the phone you want to buy may never get an official update to Android 2.2. In addition, the screen size is small, as is the resolution. At 320 x 240, a lot of the really great apps on Android will not be able to run on your phone because some developers only make apps for devices with screen at 320 x 480 or 480 x 800.

The i5500 is basically a budget Android phone, so it will not be able to match the versatility, smoothness, and features of the higher end handsets.

Budget £90-£100, pay-as-you-go from Orange for £75 free ten pound top-up.

Taking a closer look at the offerings from Orange UK, it seems that all of the pay monthly android phones are free (excluding the telephone plan.) I will tell you that the i5500 you ordered will have a fairly small display and will not run all the apps you want it to.

If I was in your position and I could still exchange my phone, I'd take a better look at the other Android offerings, such as the HTC Desire, HTC Desire HD, LG Optimus One, and the Samsung Galaxy S. All four of those devices have higher resolutions. The LG Optimus One has a midrange resolution, not the best, but not the worst.

Going into an Orange store and physically trying the different devices would be a great way to find out if you will like the device.
