I'm an old fogey (you know, the type that has just learned to switch his computer on and off unaided), and is therefore not safe to be let out with an HTC Desire Z. I'd like to download an app (to be precise, the timetables of the SBB (Swiss Railways)), but I'm told every time that "there is no phone associated with this account", even the blasted phone is sitting there, looking at the screen with me. So what should I be doing in such circumstances?

Hi Tony,

did you login to your Googlemail account? I think it would be much easier for you, if you open the market on your phone directly. It's an icon in white with a little green basket on it.

Good advice! To see if you're logged into your Google account, go to settings ---> Accounts and Sync. You should see a list of the accounts synced to your phone. If you don't see your Google account, click "add account" and then add it manually. This should then allow you to download either from the market app on your phone or market.android.com
