In another Android 2.2 surprise, Samsung UK Mobile announced on their official Twitter account that the Samsung Galaxy S will be receiving Android 2.2 on all networks "at the end of September." Just Wednesday we saw a picture leaked to Android Central of what appeared to be the next in the myTouch 3G line of phones, the myTouch 3G HD. Yesterday, it seems the same tipster leaked a different photo of the phone to TmoNews, this time of the back of the device. It doesn't really strengthen the idea that this is T-Mobile's HSPA+ device, but some additional details about the phone were able to be gathered.

A user manual for the Droid 2 was leaked to Droid Life that indicates Android 2.2 will be installed on the device at launch. In addition, Droid Life got tips that Best Buy is receiving shipments of Droid 2 cases, in what seems to be a build-up to a launch. We saw rumors that the phone would release with Android 2.2 on August 12th not too long ago, and this latest leak seems to strengthen that rumor, as the accessories usually release just before the phone does.

Fabien just got in an email from HTC a couple minutes ago stating that the Android 2.2 release for the European HTC Desire would be releasing this weekend. Motorola announced their Q2 numbers today, and it is a different story than the dismal numbers we were seeing back in late April. Engadget reports that "Earnings were $162 million, up from $26 million this time last year." Motorola themselves write in their press release that "“In the second quarter, our Enterprise Mobility Solutions and Networks businesses continued to deliver best-in-class market leadership and financial returns, with strong operating earnings and excellent cash generation.”

There were rumors that Android 2.2 would be rolling out today for the HTC Desire in Europe, but that will likely not happen, as we have not yet heard anything, and HTC noted on their Facebook page a few hours ago that they are not yet finished with FroYo. In an effort to get more information, AndroidPIT's Fabien Röhlinger had a conversation on the phone with an HTC employee in Europe that had some things to say about the FroYo release.
