i am getting my feet wet with cell phone development and starting with the android, i recently tried installing android sdk with eclipse classic and ADT Tools but for some reason the ADT tools won't show up despite all the troubleshooting i did.

I found "app inventor" and was wondering if it is a good substitute until i can get eclipse running?

thanks for your time.

i can clearly say "No, it is not"

I made my start with app inventor since its easy and you do not need to know lots of things... But it comes with a price... Its exactly like iphone: "Its just for simple apps which cant do anything but basic stuff"

what you can do with it is very very limited.. sooner or later you will have to make eclipse work.. and the time that you spend on app inventor will be wasted...
