android update

Hi all, I own a samsung galaxy tab2 10.1 wi fi only, could anyone tell me if its due an update? My sons 7inch recently got an update to 4.2 but im still on 4.1! Please help, many thanks.

A little over a month ago, I received a pop up for a software update for 4.2. I own a galaxy note. I know different devices have update releases at different times. Depending on the brand of device you have, you can sometimes go into the settings and check for software updates manually. Google Support and Google+ are also very good at displaying what updates are available for what devices.

Thanks I'll keep checking, I asked Samsung but even they don't know at this stage!!

I chose to not take the update and kept 4.1. When I looked in my settings I did see a check for updates. Not sure about yours, also, when I looked through my widget page I also found a software update widget. Might come in handy in the future

Hey Steve, yay, samsung came be a little difficult when it comes to getting that info. Because Google is the one who makes the android soft wear, that's usually where I normally go.

Stephen, I've found "Drippler" in the play store to be a lot of help with updates. I updated my old nexus 7 tablet to 4.3 about 3 weeks before Google rolled them out to everyone with a nexus device. I know yours is a Samsung, but they should know. I'm quite confident in that applications ability to help you.
