What's a good New York City metro app?

I'm looking into the best New York City Metro apps and I was wondering if there is anyone out there in forums that could suggest one (or more) !

I would like to write an article about the best ones and I need some user support from anyone who either lives there or has visited New York and had a good experience with one of the many apps.
