Samsung Galaxy S4 — Updating contact list - no result

Hi,
I updated firmware of my GI-9502 to Android 5.0.1. (With some difficulty. The first firmware I tried lost knowledge of the SIM cards.) Now SIM cards are there and working, but my contacts are missing and can not be synced from Outlook like they were earlier. Opening 'Contacts' result in message "Updating contact list..." and a rotating "circle" just staying there. Clearing data and cache does not help. Sync of email and calendar work ok - only contacts are missing.

I got a bit further - there is an app "Contacts Storage" that also needs to be running and cleared. I did not find it from "all" apps but finally from "turned off" apps - not my logic that "all" would not contain all..
BUT
contacts are still not syncing - there are only some very old contacts visible - I suspect they come from sim. My whole outlook address book is still missing.
