Hello Caroline, great article! You may want to take a look at InTouchApp as well - a contacts manager built for professionals (over 2.5m downloads globally; managing over a billion contacts and growing fast - disclaimer, I am the founder). Our goal is to build the TRUE Dropbox for contacts! It works no matter which phone you use (Android, iOS, BB, Windows, etc.) as well as online, and works directly with phone's native contacts storage. More here: or search for intouchapp on Play store.

Our latest feature addition to InTouchApp is integrated business card management - just take a snap of your business card and it gets preserved for you plus contact added to your phone - automatically!

Caroline, I have about 10,000 Google Contacts, which works tolerably well in GMail, but is horribly slow in the Android Contact Manager. When I touch a contact to view it, it takes 15-20 seconds before it is displayed. (It's a lot worse in Lollipop than it was in JellyBean.)

Can you recommend a replacement contact manager which syncs up with Goggle Contacts, but performs better for large numbers of contacts?
