Any alternatives for AppBrain remote settings?

Hi,

One of the cool feature of having an app published to AppBrain developer console is the ability to use "Remote Settings" - basically key-value pairs. Then in you app you can access it Appbrain... getSetting("key") However it has its own issues - like for example the new settings does not get populated/available immediately and I don't know what is the exact time of updates.

So does anyone know any alternatives? I would though that Google itself might have something like that? Any clues?
