Blu Studio Selfie LTE recovery help, phone stuck at "checking connection..."

I have been trying to get this phone up and running again for 2 weeks, it seems to not be a very popular phone since I can't find any troubleshooting information for this exact device... I did a factory reset and then when it boots up it connects to the cellular network and then asks to connect to wi-fi, the skip option is greyed out and does nothing, the phone just sits there trying to connect to God only knows what. I have obtained the boot.img and recovery.img for this phone, I also have a couple different update.zip files (one was made with TitaniumBackup, and the other I don't remember). It appears to me that for some reason this phone does not support most of the fastboot commands, so I'm pretty sure my only options at this point are to obtain the proper signature keys so that I don't get a footer is wrong error while trying to sideload the zip, or obtain / create the android-info.txt and android-product.txt to be able to install the zip in fastboot.
