WhatsApp backup from Google Drive restored only last week of conversations

I lost my phone (HUAWEI P8 lite) and installed WhatsApp on a new one (HUAWEI P20 lite).
For the first two days I used WhastApp with a new phone number and could not restore any backup. Then I recovered my previous number and restored the WhatsApp data from my Google Drive backup, but got ONLY the last week of conversations.

Is there any way I can recover ALL of my WhatsApp conversations?

My friend told me the Samsung WhatsApp Data Recovery is a professional recovery tool to recover lost or deleted WhatsApp data ,it also apply to HUAWEI P20 lite.You could try it.

Dear Ceciclia, thank you for the suggestion.
I had a look at the FonePaw tutorial (I can not paste the link here unfortunately) but I understand that it works only if you are using WhatsApp on the same phone.
In my case I lost my phone and bought a new one, so I think my old WhatsApp data can not be found on the new phone.

I am wondering whether it is possible to go to google drive and fetch all your backup files and then manage to restore from these local files. (smug)
