Hi all
Just got a new galaxy s7.
Every time I open gmail this notification pops up ;
There was a problem syncing your folder please try again.
This message only shows for a brief moment then gmail functions as normal. Anyone know what might be causing this?

Just found out that Google is having a major problem world wide with the gmail app. They say they have a team working on it.
Forgive me for sending this message to you but I wanted to add it to this post and I didn't know how else to do it.

Do you use the stock email app or gmail app?
It seems that your gmail has stopped syncing automatically on your phone. Check its sync setting.

Download size < 0.15 MB. But also accurate enough, ad-free & free.
The minimalist app available on Play Store: https://goo.gl/ws42fN

If so, I think you may check your battery save setting & network setting to make sure the background of your gmail app to work always properly. Just for your reference.

You can also master refresh the phone if the problem still persists !!
Master refresh will make your phone working well without affecting any files on your phone !!

I check the internet.
There is no such thing as a Master Refresh!
Did you mean a soft reset?

I am not sure About your phone. But for my mobile, there is a setting option, screen lock cleanup. The gmail APP in the list here should be set to 'disable'.
The screenshot is as below. FYI.

I have a galaxy s7. It is a unlocked device! Which means no cell phone carrier got to reprogram it between me and samsung!
Looked all through gmail and security settings.
Can't find anything called lock screen clean up .

I have a unlocked galaxy s7!
I have searched everywhere. All I can find is a Hard Factory Reset!
And I really don't want to have to reprogram everything for this annoying little glitch.
Could this soft reset be called something else?
