Samsung Galaxy S6 — random pop sounds during voice record

When recording voice I get random pop sounds...even during silent passages. Its the same sound you get when tapping the screen but I am not.
Tried different app, safe mode, same issue.

Do you mean a touch sound?
Go to 'Settings - Sound', check if the option for 'Touch sound' has been enabled.

When recording, if I tap the screen it plays back with a little pop sound. This is with touch sounds turned off. My problem is that there are random pop sounds throughout the recording, without touching the screen.
I'm wondering if the audio record circuit is bad?
