Question about Signature Versions when generating an Android APK

Hi,

I have an Android project in Android Studio V3.2.1.
When I try to generate a signed APK for this project, I have 2 check boxes about Signature Versions.

Check the screenshot as below, please.

My question is what's the difference between these 2 Signature Version options. Which one should I check?

Hi,

According to Google documentation V2 offers fastest download time and more security. It is recommendation that you check both versions. But there could be some problems with V2.
For my programs uploaded to Google Play I use only V1.

I am going to upload the APK to Google Play. So, which check box should I check to generate the APK?
Any ideas? (nerd)

Hi,

Signature version V2 was introduced with Android 7.0 .
There were some reports of problems with apk generation and not properly signed applications when apk was uploaded to Google Play.
At that time I had already some application on Google Play, so I decided I will not use V2.
But you can check both.
