Hi,
WhatsApp wasn't responding (due to a universal outage - ( so I learnt later) - and then I uninstalled and reinstalled it in an attempt to get over the problem. Now I have it working but all my data from recent years are lost. Is there a way to restore them?
Thanks

Have you backed it up to google drive? Or Do you have the Whatsapp DB files?

Download size < 0.15 MB. But also accurate enough, ad-free & free.
The minimalist app available on Play Store: https://goo.gl/ws42fN

browse your file manager & go whatsapp-databases can you find files there?
those are the weekly back up files.
But it shoud have asked you if you want to restore data or not.

The Cache seems empty, so I guess it's a lost case... Thanks anyway!

Hey Hadar,

Try restoring the chat file "msgstore.db.crypt" and in the sd card, navigate to the database folder. The route for doing the following is /sdcard/WhatsApp/Databases. If you want to do Mobile app development like this, do not hesitate to contact us. Hope this helps, Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for this advice.
I'm trying to follow it at the moment.
I've arrived at this screen:image

Is this the right one? And what should I do at this point?
Thanks again for the help!

Hello Hadar,

You did followed the way but if your query isn't resolved yet, I suggest you to choose a different path. Try this: Device Storage/WhatsApp/Databases/msgstore.db.crypt8

If you have backup, go to backup to restore lost whatsapp data.
But if you no have backup, only Android Data Recovery can help you, which can scan your phone deeply, all detected phone data can be recovered then, you can have a try.
