There was a false rumor about the Droid Incredible Android 2.2 update earlier this week, which was quickly pulled. Early yesterday, Droid-Life posted a leaked picture of a Verizon document pinning today (August 27th) as the beginning of the Android 2.2 update for the Incredible, but Verizon has a history of changing release dates, so I wasn't complete convinced. Luckily, Verizon confirmed the roll-out themselves.
So, what is the update bringing with it? BoyGeniusReport writes that it includes "Flash Player 10.1, 720p video recording, Wi-Fi 802.11n support, 3G mobile hotspot, and more."
AndroidGuys notes that the launch date of today "is a few days earlier than what we had last heard and only a couple of weeks beyond the initial rumored time frame."
Head on over to Android Central to take a look at some screenshots of what to expect Android 2.2 to look like on you HTC Droid Incredible. They also have some pictures of some benchmarking tests done with the device, and a comparison against other high-end phones.
