Immanuel Kant was born in Königsberg, Prussia, in 1724. He lived his entire life in Königsberg; studying physics and mathematics at the university from 1740 to 1746, and then, following the death of his father, working as a private tutor, before returning to the university, in 1755, where he gained his doctorate.
