Description
Just launched on the Android market, BluTorq Speedometer is a simple and elegant tool that allows you to accurately measure the speed and distance travelled using your Android device. This application contains easy-to-read digital and analogue displays, as well as a graph that allows you to monitor your speed profile. Users are also able to switch between metric and imperial units at any time.
The following are key features of BluTorq Speedometer:
Digital display
• Large, high contrast characters for maximum readability
• Displays current speed, units, and GPS accuracy
Analogue display
• Automatic scale adjustment based on screen size and speed to maximise usable dial area
• Efficient algorithm that allows the needle to swing fluidly, just like dials in a real car!
• Background that glows green during acceleration and red during braking
Speed Graph
• Speed profile recorded for last 30 seconds with time stamps on the horizontal axis
• First-order filter that smoothens out noise caused by irregularities in GPS signal strength
Speed and distance calculations are based on the latest WGS 84 standard, and geographic elevation was also taken into account for greater accuracy.
This is a simple application that is fun and easy to use. It is also 100% free, with NO annoying advertisements that could drain your mobile data usage. Why not give it a try!
We are fully committed to our apps, and we would love to hear from you. For support, comments, and feedback, please contact us at support@blutorq.com

Amazingly realistic analog operation! This is a fun and functional app and works good. The needle movement is smooth and fluidlike most of the time. I love the rescaling as you gain speed. Starts off 0-24 then jumps to 0-60 then when you get near 60, it jumps to 0-120MPH. Awesome! A couple of minor issues though: After it scales up, it won't return to the 0-24 scale after you come to a stop! It remains in the highest scale instead. I found a way to reset it. Turn the phone from vertical to landscape, or visa/versa. I wish it would just self reset. AND, a small compass rose of equiv would be nice to show direction. I do not understand how to read the GPS status numbers either. It's still a well designed app. (Sammy Galaxy Player 5.0)

Works great! Very easy to use, and very helpful when I needed to recalibrate my speedometer!

Uncluttered interface, and undistracting to look at while driving Uncluttered and simple interface. Tested it against my Garmin gps unit, and this app actually handled transients in speed better. The transition between screens in portrait mode could be a little better, but its not a deal breaker. I found the best way to switch between the dial and graph is to move your finger rapidly across the screen and lift off.

Does the job brilliantly I have seen quite a few speedometer apps out there. This is by far the most accurate. The colour shading based on accuracy is very useful in low GPS signal areas. This app would definitely go far.

Simple app and straight-forward to use Does what it says on the tin. The graphing feature in particular is interesting because you can observe just how erratic it is to drive in the city! The app is also usefull to check the distance covered when I go for a run!
