The Sibley Guide to Birds has become the most popular and fastest selling printed guide to birds as well as the most comprehensive and authoritative guide to North American Birds:
● Over 6600 images.
● Every species is shown perched and in flight from above and below.
● Shows every major seasonal, age, and sexual variation.
● Detailed coverage of subspecies and regional variations.
● Detailed maps showing not just winter and summer range but also migration and rare occurrence.
● Detailed descriptions of songs and calls, comparing similar species measurements of length, wingspan, and weight for every species.
Now all of that information is available in an easy-to-navigate portable format on any Android device.
Includes the following functionality:
● Swipe to move to the next or previous species.
● One-tap enlargement of images with extended zoom functionality.
● Over 2300 carefully-selected and edited sound recordings. Nearly all species are represented with multiple examples showing the range of vocalizations.
● The ability to compare any two images, maps, or sounds, side by side on the screen.
● The ability to filter by state/province, so that you see only the species likely to occur in your location, and to further reduce the possibilities to the most common birds in that area.
● The ability to search by distinguishing features such as size, prominent colors, habits, and group.
● *A basic personal species list that stores your sightings saved to the device (ability to upload list coming soon)
* Uninstalling/reinstalling the program will result in the loss of your list, it is recommended that you keep your own backup (master list) separate from the application (application provides backup/restore functionality in "My List" page)

Where is the data??? Paid and installed it but it jst sits on home logo screen. A search pops up bird names but any result pick causes program to fail. Please fix!!! This is ridiculously undertested.

Good could be better Excellent app for pictures calls and call backs. Could improve the list feature to allow you to go to the birds page and as a sort of quicklink or favorites. Also typo on the confirm deletion screen for removing individual birds from list.

Backups I have a long list on My List but just found out you cannot backup the list. When the phone or simm card fails I will lose My List. So I need to write down the list so it is not lost during a failure. The My List is worthless until there is a backup feature. Otherwise it is a great application.

Ok App but Long ways to go Sibley is known for great bird books, so when I saw they had a app I jumped on it, but after you install it on my Xoom I soon found out I needed to go to their web site and download the data files on there. Not a big deal but shouldn't have to do it. After you install those files than it tell you that you need to download more files, so you spend another 15 min downloading more files. After you have everything downloaded and install it's a excellent app, the first app that allow you to pick your location for faster more reasonable searches. This app doesn't seem to work well with a tablet in landscape mode, the text is funky and the pictures are very pixelated. As you expect with a Sibley product it comes with tons of info about each bird, with maps and relative pictures. Just be warned you get this app, that it's not very a very user friendly install at all. Until they fix this issues with their download and the pixelation I can't recommend this app. Get the iBird app, much much better than this.

Android's best bird app Beautiful but dated artwork but constant FCs and limited search/UI. Expensive but way better than ibird pro. Hoping for a cheaper regional edition soon?

Terrific Guide Runs great and is a helpful guide. I have Sibley's books but I don't always carry them so this is a great tool.

Inconsistent I love the convenience of this app. Great descriptions! songs and calls are a major perk. The downside is the app often freezes after I open to the main menu. My husband has the app and doesn't seem to have this problem.
