1. A quick start for new users
The advanced android task killer is pretty simple. Open our tool and take a look at the running applications list. Uncheck those apps you don't want to kill (such as Advanced Task Killer and some system apps) and proceed to tap the button indicated 'kill selected apps'. it will then kill all applications checked.
2. Advanced operations
If you don't want to kill any app, you can tap it on the running applications list. Its box will then turn to grey.
3. Why are there apps still running that I haven't used or opened?
Some apps will boot once you turn on your phone or will be invoked by certain events.
4. What is ignore list/ignore?
Ignore list is present for you to indicate those apps you don't want to kill. If you long press on the app listed on the main screen of advanced task killer the menu will pop up, then you can select 'Ignore' and the application would be moved to the ignore list. When you tap 'Kill selected apps', it remains unaffected.
5. What is default action for long press?
You can set your default action for long press by clicking into settings. The system default action for long press is pop-menu. That means when you long press on the application a pop-menu will show. For example, if you want to switch to the application after you long press on it, you can change the default action of long press to 'Switch to'.
6. Why did I lose my network connection after I pressing 'kill selected apps'?
This is because some apps related with network connection are killed. Such as 'voicemail'. You can place this in the ignore list to avoid killing it next time.
7. Why did my home screen reload?
This is because some apps related with the home screen were killed. Such as 'HTC Sense' or 'Mail'. You can place this too in the list of apps to ignore.
8. Why can I not receive email notifications?
This is because you killed 'Email'. Instead of killing it, you need to ignore it.
9. What is Auto Kill?
The ability to kill apps automatically.
- Safe: Only kill the apps that aren't running but still consume memory.
- Aggressive: Kill the apps running in the background and apps that aren't running.
- Crazy: All apps except for apps you are using.
You should be able to see Auto Kill information on the title, like 'Auto-Kill: 12:20'. That means auto kill will start at 12:20, you can also change the frequency to impact the auto kill start time.
