Not safe to use. This is not a mobile client, it's just a frontend to the website. SpiderOak encrypts data and claims they can not decrypt it, only you can. This is misleading, when you access your files through their website, then you give them the key to decrypt your files for you. They admit this on their website and they advise you not to do so. The mobile app can not decrypt files! The mobile app sends the key to the server, and downloads files when you want them. So it's just a front end to the website -- remember they advise against this! Here is what they say on the website (Engineering Matters): »Important Note: When accessing your data via the SpiderOak website or a mobile device, you must enter your password which will then exist in the SpiderOak server memory for the duration of your browsing session. … To fully retain our 'zero-knowledge' privacy, we recommend you always access your data via the SpiderOak desktop application which downloads your data before decrypting it locally.« So, they advise not to use this application. It kind of defeats the purpose of a "secure" cloud storage if you cannot access it in a secure fashion from your mobile device.

Good, but needs music streaming Great app, but it is not as full featured as the desktop client, needs syncing and save to directory for downloading

Great!! I'm using 300 GB Spideroak on Mac, PC, iOS and Android. I love its security and I understand that due to clientside encryption and the whole secure concept, we can never expect the convenience and speed of Dropbox. That's fine with me. Spideroak and Wuala are the only safe usable multi platform cloud storage systems. I'm using both and haven't found the winner yet. I would rate it ***** if it had upload capability and the possibility to store and sync files directly instead of first having to backup.

Disappointing I used this a year ago but abandoned due to speed and bugs. I have come back due to Dropbox's new ToS, a year later I don't see any improvement. I accept that encryption makes it slow but I still get FCs like before. Forcing users to backup first then sync is just bad design, some stuff I don't need backing up just syncing! Back to the search for decent Dropbox replacement.

Great tool Very useful app and I love having it on my phone. However, it always sits in the status bar and crashes if I try to do anything from there. It always says in the status bar that it is still downloading something.
