EZCam works with a number of vendors databases which can be downloaded directly via the EZCam interface:

A number of other vendors are supported and databases can be installed via SDCard or downloaded via a web browser:
- Scdb.info (European cameras including Belgian and Dutch)
- GPS Data Team (worldwide camera support)
NOTE: Mobile phones cannot detect radar signals from police equipment. This application like all others uses a GPS based location paired with a database to determine the proximity of known speed cameras.

Didn't work well in the uk Seemed to be randomly going off even giving 40mph speed camera warnings while on a clear motorway!

Awesome app Works well with pgpsworld database. Don't understand 1* ratings. Must be either dumb or a competitor.

Not so good The only time this app warned me was when I pulled of the side of the road with a state police officer behind me. It cost me 125.50 to find out it doesnt work.

Poor Data base While I love the application, it woefully misses many cameras in the Seattle area!!!! The Pocket GPSWorld, besides being a steep subscription rate, is not clear how much of the data covers the US, if at all. I think it is UK based. I was disappointed in that it warned me only in one intersection near the SEATAC airport. But it missed two in Renton and one in Kent (all in the Seattle neighborhood). It would also be nice to activate it via Bluetooth so that it may be active only in car mode. The way it is now, connecting to the USB port of a Home/Office dock activates it; and makes this silly "Speech enabled" or something like that- when no one expects it. If the developer corrects those two anomalies, I will revise my rating to a definite 5 STAR!

Good concept, doesn't seem to quite work though I bought this with the intention of running in the background behind Google Maps Navigation. The overlay option and the option in the widget to auto launch on USB power are very good ideas, but sometimes the overlays get in the way of what you're trying to do on the device. An option to click to hide them temporarily, or to be able to drag them out of the way would be a huge improvement. I also found that using it in the background behind Google Maps doesn't work as well as an integrated navigation and speed camera app would. It constantly alerts about speed cameras on nearby roads, causing distraction from driving. I wish I could have trialled this before buying - my advice is to try one with a free trial first, or possibly one of the navigation apps with speed camera support. I think I'll wait for Google to directly support camera locations in Navigation before investing in another app (if ever).

QUESTION PLEASE!.... Have other people here found that the £20/yr PocketGPSWorld database offers much of an improvement over the free one from SpeedCameraPOI? Is it much more extensive, & do you think that it justifies the cost? Sadly, it seems to be more than 1.5 yrs since the free database was updated. All answers gratefully received (I’ll check back here regularly!) I'm loving the app so far (I've more real-world testing to do). Best features of any speedcam app I've tried. Requests: give the option to make the speed & radar overlays smaller, so they don’t obscure so much of the screen beneath them (& definitely make their backgrounds less opaque). Also, make the map zoom-able. Also, on the Alerts Settings page, make it less easy to accidentally change the Alert Angle setting whilst scrolling up/down. Also, a better Help page, including info on the differences between the camera types (& is a Fixed Camera a generic term?) And most importantly (work with the webmasters to) allow us to edit/ add cameras to their databases from within your app. This is the best way to encourage people to keep them up-to-date. I also found a few small bugs - emailed to the dev's. (SGS2)

Shame about camera DB . Good app but spoiled by database that has many cameras missing.
