Description
Cop Recorder 2 is a network-enabled authority recorder! With this app, you can secretly record audio whenever you are dealing with an authority figure, and then anonymously upload it to the OpenWatch.net server to expose police corruption and brutality!Use it whenever you deal with the police, the military, the TSA or private security forces in your country! If your rights are violated, you will have evidence!
Once you press Record Audio, the recorder becomes invisible and there is no visual indication that there is a recording in progress. Once you are safely away, you can open the app to stop recording, then upload the audio to the OpenWatch server where it will be anonymized and posted online.
More information about the OpenWatch project is available at OpenWatch.net
Be brave!
Cop Recorder and OpenWatch are Free and Open Source software.

I wish I had this a month ago... I'm not in one of ur typically profiled types (I'm female & blonde) but I was falsely arrested & severely battered by VA Beach cops recently. While I do have photos, witnesses, etc., I so wish I'd had this app as well, altho, unfortunately, it is useless once an arrest has been made. Still, every tool citizens can use to mitigate abuses of power is a good one.

Power to the people! We need to keep cops in check always. They have 2 much power. We need rules, but not rulers. If u r in a public area, u can record ur conversation with the cops, always. Now as far as taking images while recording, that can be illegal from state to state. No need for disclaimer here.

It works. It works on ICS galaxy nexus, but recording in .3gp format is unfortunate.

Helpful @M Why would this be "flagged" by authorities? Why would they have any problem with themselves being recorded?

Useful app - catch 'em in a lie I use this to quietly record people and conversations all the time. It's a great tool, especially for recording interactions with government personnel.

Sweet. For those saying a disclaimer is needed or its illegal, cops when acting as cops have no expectation to privacy. Thus recording cops is legal no matter your state laws. And its not evidence to the retard that said that. Record everything and always when interacting with police.
