Phone Arena has published a leaked Verizon memo that lists a release date for the Moto X of August 23rd and for the HTC One on August 1st. There's no confirmation as to the memo's legitimacy, but it's as good a piece of prophecy as any.
The Moto X looks set to be released shortly to cash in on Motorola's marketing that began on Independence Day in the US, where the device was branded as a user-customizable, ''assembled in America'' smartphone. So far there has been no official sighting of the device, but leaked pictures are everywhere.
The HTC One is already available on other mobile networks in the US but will come to Verizon on August 1st. A number of other devices and launches are listed in the memo as well, including the LG Exalt (releasing July 25th), a device described as having the ''largest display seen on a flip-phone''. Samsung will also release the Convoy 3, a military-spec flip phone that will hopefully be more dust, water and shock proof than the Galaxy S4 Active.
With the release of the Nokia Lumia 1020 yesterday, the upcoming Note III from Samsung, the iPhone 6, LG G2 and the Sony Honami device, the premium smartphone options during the summer look set to be red hot.
Will you be buying a Moto X when it's released in August? Or will you wait for one of the other flagship devices to be released?
