Acer Announces Three New Android Devices

Yesterday, Acer announced at a press event in Ney York City three upcoming Android devices, one being a 4.8" smartphone, as well as a 7" tablet and a 10.1" tablet. The devices, based on what I can gather, were not demonstrated live to the attendees, but were instead briefly shown on video.

Below are the released specs of the three unnamed devices:

4.8" Smartphone:

  • 4.8"1024 x 480 resolution 21:9 aspect ratio mulititouch display
  • Android OS (likely Android 2.2 or higher) with Adobe Flash Player Support
  • DLNA and HDMI port
  • Bluetooth 3.0, HSDPA 14.4, Wi-Fi N
  • 8MP camera LED flash, 2MP front facing camera
  • 6-axis motion sensor (gyroscope and accelerometer)

7" Tablet

  • 7" 1280 x 800 16:10 aspect ratio multitouch display
  • Android OS (likely Android 2.2 or higher) with Adobe Flash Player 10.1 support
  • dual-core processor
  • front-facing HD camera
  • Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity
  • DLNA and HDMI port

10" Tablet

  • 10" 1280 x 800 16:10 aspect ratio multitouch display
  • Android OS (no hints to specify what version)
  • 5MP rear camera and front facing HD camera
  • Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity
  • HDMI port
  • aluminum casing

Pricing for all three of these devices is unknown at this point, but Acer mentioned that the release date for all three devices is aimed for sometime in April 2011.

Do remember that not all specs were revealed for the devices, so if, for example a feature in the 7" tablet was not yet mentioned for the 10.1" tablet, there is still a good chance the 10.1" tablet may have the same feature.
