Hi Ranger,

I'm using Link2SD in combination with a 2GB 2nd partition on my SD card. Works with root only.
There are also a lot other apps, don't know if they need root.
you should search App2SD in the market.

root gives you full administration rights to your phone.
But be careful with changes - you can brick your phone.
A good explanation and a howto can be found on the pages of our friends xdadevelopers.
Sorry, I'm writing with the app, cannot send a link.

Ok,

let's start from the beginning...

to root your phone means you have full access to your system, but you must be careful when deleting the system apps. Means you should root your phone only when you exactly know what you are doing. Otherwise your phone can be destroyed - than you can use it as a brick only (this is what I meant with "to brick your phone")
With rooting your phone you'll also lose the warranty

I used the howto from the German Androidpit Forum, which can be found here - sorry, my English is not the best, maybe translated site via Google Translator helps.

I followed this step only to root my phone (X10i) with Flashtool version 0.2.8 and had no problems:

Activate your phone in debug mode (Settings / Applications / Development / hook for USB debugging set)
Connect your phone to your PC (SD card not mounting)
Start the flash tool and hit the top of root
Now your phone reboots and it should be rooted

The Flashtool works only with firmware 2.1 - if there is 1.6 on your phone you must update the firmware (via SEUS or via the preferences of your phone)

With my tips I am not responsible if something goes wrong - you should exactly know what you are doing and that you are doing it on your own risk.

Hi Ranger,

sorry. I cannot teach, but I can tell you how I made it with my X10

1. I rooted my phone with FlashTool (see above)
2. I downloaded and installed Partition Wizard (http://www.partitionwizard.com/download.html) in my computer
3. I inserted my 16 GB SD card into my computer and made a 2 GB partition using Partition Wizard
5. I put the Sd card back into the phone
4. I instelled Link2Sd on my phone
5. I started Link2Sd
6. I linked all apps (not the caches or libraries! ) to SD

Regards
Andy

so far I have no problems.
I moved all the big apps (games like Angry Bird but also my navi).
What you should not link to SD is your launcher and widgets (they will not work anymore) and data and caches (decreases the SD's lifetime).

Is your phone already rooted?
