The Battle for Wesnoth is a turn-based tactical strategy game with a high fantasy theme and RPG elements.
Build up a great army, gradually turning raw recruits into hardened veterans. In later games, recall your toughest warriors and form a deadly host against whom none can stand! Choose units from a large pool of specialists, and hand-pick a force with the right strengths to fight well on different terrains against all manner of opposition.
Wesnoth has many different sagas waiting to be played out. Fight to regain the throne of Wesnoth, of which you are the legitimate heir… step into the boots of a young officer sent to guard a not-so-sleepy frontier outpost… lead a brutal quest to unite the orcish tribes… vanquish a horde of undead warriors unleashed by a foul necromancer, who also happens to have taken your brother hostage… guide a band of elvish survivors in an epic quest to find a new home… get revenge on the orcs by utilising the foul art of necromancy…

Humz Great game. I love it... Lots of characters, great soundtrack and I love this type of turn based game. Multiplayer works great and the stories are very fun to read. The characters look phenomonal and its so easy to dive right into. That one reference to a mage named maghre was awesome... It made me chuckle at the subtly of it. One bone to pick, why they lost a star. I cant setup a multiplayer game with a computer player as soon as i do that it simply closes the app. No FC, no error. Just gone. So I cant setup a local game where me and the girlfriend can team up against some orcs cause it dies on me. Kinda Sad. I emailed the devs lets see what happens!

Crashing I regret paying for this. I'll be 30 minutes into a scenario when the game will exit to desktop. Please fix. Droid X.

Slightly disappointed Reading any text is incredibly difficult, as it is very very small on the galaxy nexus. However, massive fan on PC, nice to see a reasonably solid port.

Excellent I've been searching for something like this on my Android since I got the phone. I can spend hours absolutely absorbed in the world of Wesnoth. The game is serious but cute, and the story is fun. I have had one minor error where it seems to de-sync when I'm creating new units if I go too fast, but it didn't seem to cause any issues and wasn't game breaking. I only wish, like Mr. Shiny, that this game could sync across multiple devices (and even to the PC!), but that doesn't make this game any less enjoyable or affect my score.

Great port, but buggy on Toshia Thrive On the first campaign where you take the prince for the sceptor of fire. . . When I get to the fording of the river, it continueally crashes during the first 3 turns with this error: window.app:808 in function 'void gui2::twindow::layout()' found the following problem: Failed tosize window: wanted size 2712.389 available size 1280.752 screen size 1280.752 Click OK and it crashes. I had to save each time I did anything manually just to get past this level and it seems to happen on certain levels. When it does, it happens several times per battle. If they fixed this, it would be outstanding though.
